Care & Warranty
Built to Last a Lifetime
Every knife I make is crafted with care, precision, and the highest quality materials. With proper maintenance, your knife will serve you for decades — and I stand fully behind that commitment.
Caring for Your Knife
My knives are made from high carbon steel. This steel is selected for its exceptional edge retention, toughness, and ease of sharpening — but it does require proper care to prevent corrosion.
Daily Care
- Hand wash only. Never place your knife in a dishwasher.
- Dry immediately after washing. Do not leave to air dry.
- Do not leave soaking in water.
- Avoid leaving acidic foods (lemon, tomato, onion) on the blade for extended periods.
High carbon steel will naturally develop a patina over time. This is completely normal and helps protect the blade. Patina is not rust — it is part of the character and story of your knife.
Preventing Rust
Because high carbon steel is reactive, moisture left on the blade can cause rust. To prevent this:
- Wipe dry immediately after use.
- Apply a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil if storing for extended periods.
- Store in a dry environment.
If light surface rust appears, it can usually be removed gently with baking soda paste or a rust eraser.
Cutting Surfaces
To preserve the edge:
- Use wooden or quality plastic cutting boards only.
- Avoid glass, ceramic, marble, granite, or stone surfaces.
- Do not pry, twist, cut frozen foods, or bones unless the knife is designed specifically for that purpose.
Edge Maintenance
Your knife is ground to a precise geometry for optimal performance.
- Regular honing will maintain edge alignment.
- Sharpen as needed using quality whetstones or have it professionally sharpened.
- Avoid aggressive powered grinders unless handled by an experienced professional.
If you're unsure about sharpening, feel free to reach out — I'm always happy to advise.
Complimentary Sharpening Service
Every knife I make includes free edge resetting and sharpening for the first 5 years.
You simply cover the postage to and from my workshop, and I will:
- Re-set the edge geometry
- Sharpen and refine the edge
- Inspect the knife for any developing issues
This service ensures your knife continues performing exactly as intended.
In addition, I offer professional sharpening services for other knives you own, not just those made by me. If you have blades that need attention, I'm happy to help.
Lifetime Warranty
I offer a lifetime warranty to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship. If your knife fails due to a fault in craftsmanship or material under normal use, I will repair or replace it at my discretion.

What Is Not Covered
- Damage from misuse, abuse, or neglect
